description: Studies on some aspects of the bionomics of filariasis vector Anopheles flavirostris Ludlow were carried out in an endemic area of malaria and filariasis Tanjung Bunga Subdistrict, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.       Vector of filariasis An. flavirostris in Tanjung Bunga Subdistrict was found allover the yeas; two peak densities periods were found, one in August-September and the other in December-February. This species is actives nocturnally and feeds indoors as well as outhdoors from 19.00-05.00 and a peak of biting activity around midnight.       During day time this species was found in high number of resting indoor (0,15-0,59 per-man/hour) compared to low number (0,01-0,30 per-man/hour) resting outdool: The abdominal condition of the mosquitoes resting indoor 70%-90% engorged and 10-20% gravids and about 0.00-10.00% unfed.       Larvae habitats of An. flavirostris were found in stagnant water (spring, small stream and ground pool) with extensive surface coverage with decaying leaves.       During there studies 0.13% (1 out of 248) of An. flavirostris harboured infective stage larvae (L3) of filariasis Wuncheria bancrofti and no sporozoites were found at all.
