The research was conducted in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya in year 2000.       Data were collected through  indepth interview with 30 traditional healers who use herbs as medicine and sinshe.       Results shown that most of the traditional healers were above 50 years old, most of  them were male, and hold high school and or university degrees. Their skills were obtained  by spontaneous, hereditary, dream, courses/learn. Most of the ingredients were leave sand roots of herbs.       Most of the herbs are boiled and  some were also dried under the sun, then fried with frying pan made from silt.
