This PVD records will only figure out the malaria situation in the areas, if the data represent the areas and are supported by accurate clinical as well as microscopical diagnostic. Since the representative ness of the data is highhly influenced by community awareness for health care and treatment seeking, therefore in this study that was aimed to inprove the quality of the PCD record, community awareness was the major components that had been deveoped. The study was designed as quassy experimental study (before and after with control). It was conducted in 4 Health Centres/ HC: 2 HCI-HC (High Case Incidence- HC) and 2 LCI-HC (Low Case Incidence- HC) in Banjarnegara District. Intervention was conducted in HC with HCI and LCI criteria, while the other 2 HC-s acted as Control. Intervention consisted of health education on malaria using slides, which was given to the communiy and microscopic refreshing training for the local microscopist. Analysis was done on the community perception on malaria and treatment seeking behavior and associated to the number of visit to the HC by malaria suspected patient (PCD data). The increasing of knowledge of the community on malaria in the study location was as high as 64.1% ? 96.9%; most of them (60.7% - 94.1%) considered malaria as a threatening disease and were ready to participate in the control program activities. There was an increase of PCD in the study location 4 months post intervention compared to pre-test data on the same month of the year before. While in the Control HC-s, the PCD data were lower or on the same level as the year before.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">WC 680-950 Tropical and Parasitic Diseases</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2004</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pemberantasan Penyakit</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_1207"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_1207_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
