%X A cross sectional study on the correlation between filarial transmission and environment was conducted in Samborejo village, Tirto district, Pekalongan District. Night Blood Survey was conducted among 79 respondents two years old and above. The result showed that six of them were infected with microfilaria ( Microfilaria rate 7.6%). Although the knowledge and perception of the respondents were generally good toward filarial transmission, but their habit supported the transmission of the disease. They used mosquito coils during the night but no mosquito net was used. The houses environment also supported the mosquito to enter the house because their house were not mosquito proof. Furthermore, the respondents used to stay outside house during the night for different activities. The population density of Culex quinguefasciatus as filarial vector was high (5.25 mosquito/ human/ hour). Most of the mosquitoes were already resistant to insecticides such as Malathion (0.5%), Fenithrothion (1%), Bendiocarb (0.5%) and Permethrin (0.75%).
