Repositori BKPKEPIDEMIOLOGI FILARIASIS DI DESA SUNGAI RENGIT KECAMATAN TALANG KELAPA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN TAHUN 2006SantosoSantosoauthorStudy on the epidemiology of filariasis in Sungai Rengit Village, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency has been conducted in 2006. The objectives of the study were to identify the prevalence of microfilaria rate (Mf rate), the vector, prevalence among annimals (zoonosis), Knowledge Attitude and Practice (KAP) of the community filariasis. The number of people examined were 401 people and out of this number 9 people were mf positive. The Mf rate was 2.24% and the density was 5.69 per 20 mm3. Periodicity study was done in 6 positive persons. Blood was taken from each patient every 2 hours in 24 hours. The highest density was 16.43 per mm3 found in 1 patient. While the highest mean of Mf at 24.00 (3.29 mf per 20 mm3). According to the analysis it was found that the parasite was nocturnally periodic in 4 patients and nocturnally sub periodic in 2 patients. Examination on 1,174 mosquitos found no filarial larvae. The most abundant mosquitos was Mansonia uniformis (868). Examination on 11 cats resulted negative for microfilaria. Result of environment observation, shown that most of the cases lived near survey areas, which are apparently the habitat of Mansonia spp. Result of the KAP study shown that most of the respondents have lack of knowledge on filariasis, symptoms, transmission, prevention as well as the theraphy.WC 680-950 Tropical and Parasitic Diseases2009Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan KesehatanArticle
