Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan fungsi tumbuhan liar dan tumbuhan budidaya di Kepulauan Seribu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode plot atau petak cuplikan. Pengukuran keanekaragaman tumbuhan menggunakan metode sampling. Tumbuhan liar terdapat di P.Pari, P.Karya, P.Untung Jawa dan P.Tidung. Tumbuhan liar ditemukan sebanyak 52 spesies, yang berguna sebagai bahan baku obat sekitar 60%; bahan baku insektisida sekitar 20%; bahan kayu bakar dan tanaman hias 4%, tanaman peneduh 8%; sebagai perabot rumah tangga 6%, sebagai makanan ternak 6%, penangkap ikan 6% dan yang belum diketahui kegunaannya 20%.
