Pada tahun 2006 telah dilakukan pengamatan vektor DBD dengan cara penangkapan dan pembedahan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari daerah penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa nyamuk Ae. aegypti masih potensial menularkan virus DBD, dan larva banyak ditemukan pada bak mandi antara 93,6?100%. Alternatif pengendalian selain peningkatan pembersihan tempat perindukan nyamuk dan penyemprotan rumah dengan insektisida dapat pula dilakukan penebaran ikan cethul (Pocellia reticulata) pada bak penampungan air dengan takaran 2 ekor/m3 airQX 500-675 Insects.
