Repositori BKPKPenelitian Virus Polio Liar pada Kasus Lumpuh Layu dan Meningitis Aseptic pada Anak-anak Umur di Bawah 15 TahunGendroWahyuhonoauthorPenelitian virus polio liar pada kasus AFP di DKI Jakarta telah dilakukan pada tahun 1998/1999. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui transmisi virus polio liar di masyarakat DKI, Jakarta dengan cara melakukan isolasi virus di laboratorium, dari kasus-kasus AFP yang ada di rumah sakit atau di masyarakat. Hasilnya adalah bahwa dari bulan Januari s.d Maret 1999, dari sejumlah 22 kasus AFP yang dilaporkan dengan 44 specimen tinja dan 66 kontak yang diambil tinjanya di DKI Jakarta tidak ditemukan virus entero (Echo 7) dari satu kasus AFP dan satu dari kontak, didapatkan pada bulan April 1998 dari Jakarta Timur. Disimpulkan bahwa dalam penelitian ini tidak ditemukan virus polio liar ataupun virus polio vaksin. Prevalensi infeksi virus entero non polio sebesar 6,3% dari 110 specimen tinja yang diperiksa. Pada tahun 1997/1998 DKI Jakarta juga tidak ditemukan virus polio liar maka menurut WHO DKI dapat dinyatakan sebagai daerah bebas polio.
