Kristal toksin ini memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan larvasida sintetik karena bersifat target spesifik dan memiliki toksisitas yang tinggi terhadap organisme sasaran.        Tujuan umum penelitian ini untuk memperoleh ekstrak kristal endotoksin B. thuringiensis israelensis (H-14) yang mampu membunuh larva Ae.aegypli. An. aconitus, dan Cx. quinquefasciatus.        Tujuan khususnya adalah menentukan LC50 dan LC90 serta menentukan efek residu dari LC90 kristal endotoksin terhadap larva Ae. aegypli, An. aconitus, dan Cx. quinquefasciatus.         Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Balai Besar Litbang Vektor dan Reservoir Penyakit Salatiga pada bulan April-Desember 2010. Nilai LC kristal endotoksin berturut-turut terhadap larva Aedes aegypti, Cx. quinquefasciatus, dan Anopheles aconitus adalah 0,06 (LC50) dan 0,17 ppm (LC90); 3,58 (LC50) dan 9,19 ppm (LC90); serta 021 (LC50) dan 049 ppm (LC90).
