Garam beriodium dan kapsul iodium telah digunakan oleh pemerintah dalam penanggulangan Gangguan Akibat Kekurangan Iodium. Namun penggunaan kapsul iodium secara tidak selektif telah menimbulkan gejala-gejala hipertiroid sehingga penggunaannya dihentikan sejak tahun 2009. Penghentian mendadak program kapsul iodium diduga berpengaruh pada mekanisme regulasi serta mekanisme fisiologis hormon tiroid dengan masih dijumpainya lahir kretin baru. Tujuan: Mengetahui efek pemberian beberapa sumber iodium terhadap fungsi tiroid serta pengaruhnya terhadap reseptor hormon tiroid dan reseptor TSH. Metode Penelitian: Disain penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperimen, dengan sampel wanita usia subur dengan besar sampel 105 orang yang terbagi dalam tiga kelompok intervensi. Kesimpulan: Intervensi baik dengan kapsul iodium 200mg, maupun 400 mg serta pemberian abon ikan tuna 2 kali seminggu dalam waktu 3 bulan sudah memberikan perubahan yang bermakna pada nilai TSH dan UIE.WK 200-300 Thyroid Gland.
