Anak-anak yang lahir di rumah sakit pemberian vaksin I segera setelah lahir, sedangkan pada bayi yang datang ke puskesmas pemberian vaksin I pada umur 3 bulan. Sehingga perlu diketahui tanggap kebal setelah imunisasi 3x pada bayi-bayi yang datang ke puskesmas tersebut. Pada tahun 1993/1994 telah dilakukan penelitian untuk melihat antibodi yang ditimbulkan oleh vaksin Hepatitis B yang dimulai pemberiannya pada umur 3 bulan dan kemungkinan ada tidaknya infeksi sebelum imunisasi ditentukan dengan pemeriksaan anti HBc dan HBsAG. Penelitian diadakan secara cross sectional, dengan pemilihan sampel secara random sampling pada anak umur 1-2 bulan setelah imunisasi Hepatitis B 3x, baik pada anak yang pemberian vaksin I nya pada umur <3 bulan maupun 3 bulan, selain itu juga diambil sampel pada anak-anak yang belum diimunisasi Hepatitis B dengan lokasi survei di kabupaten Jember dan Bondowoso di Jawa Timur.WC 500-590 Virus Diseases1994Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Penyakit MenularMonograph
