Not only in developing countries, but also in developed countries, new case are appear. One of the most vulnerable groups of endemic goiter in iodine deficiency areas is elementary schoolchildren. One of the impacts of iodine deficiency in school children is interrupted growth. This study analyzed the effect of supplementation of egg + iodine + iron on improving nutritional status, iodine status, iron status of elementary school children who suffer from iodine deficiency disorders. This is an experimental research design double blind randomized controlled trial. The population was children aged 8-13 years with locations in District Kismantoro, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. Indonesia. Screening in a population study has conducted by palpation goitre. It was obtained 109 children and then divided into four groups using random sampling with the aid of a random table. Type of supplementation which randomized at the individual level was allocated in the ratio 1: 1 : 1: 1, ie treatment A (egg + iodine + iron ); B (egg + iodine + iron placebo); C (egg + iodine placebo + iron); D (egg + iodine placebo + iron placebo). Nutritional status, iodine status, and iron status was measured two times, at the beginning and end of the experiment at intervals for four months. Data were analyzed using chi-square, T - tests and anova. From 675 elernentary school children, about 173 children (25.63%) suffered from thyroid gland enlargement. Base on paired t test before and after research, there was a significant effect on height / age in group A, Band D (p <0.05), weight / age in group A, Band D (p <0.05) and weight / height in group C (p <0 ,05). There was a significant affect on hemoglobin in group A, B, and 0, but no effects on serum iron and protein serum (p>0,05). There was no significant effect on T3 and TI4 level in group A, B, C and D (p>0,05). Statistical analisys with anova showed that there were no differences between groups (p>0,05). Combination of macro and micronutrient supplementation may increase height/age, weight/age, weight/height, and hemoglobin before after research of elementary schoolchildren who suffered from iodine deficiency disorder.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">QV 270-285 Water.
