<dc:description>lncidence of excess iodine ln school children has increased. This study looked at tr18 Impact of low-dese interventions salt with iodine content of 30 ± 5 ppm KIO3 on childbearrng age mothe I iodine status. Quasi-experimental design with controis in the median 10% urne area. 83 WUS as the treatment group was given salt idodized 30 ± 5 ppm RKIO3 every rnonth for 6 rnonths. We suggest the mothers used the supplied iodized salt for family consumption only 81 WUS as a control group monitored the use of iodized salt every month for 6 months. Blood serum and urine all subjects were taken before and after intervention. The proportian of urine deficit was reduced from 25.3% and 32.1% to 22.9% and 19,8%, in the treatment and control groups. The proportion of excess iodine in the treatment group droppecJ from 20.9% to 9,6%, while the control group increased from 17.3% to 18.5%. No significant difference median UIE levels between treatment and control groups, and the median UIE levels before and after the intervention. The proportion of TSH hypothyroid phase ln thE treatment group decreased from 7.2% to 2.4%, in the control group increased from 3,7% to 4,9%. Treatment and control groups experienced an increase in TSH hyperthyroid phase of the original zero to 3.6% and 2.5%. There are significant differences in the mean TSH after intervention between the treatment and control (p = 0.041), and mean TSH before and after the intervention ln the treatment group (p = 0.000), whereas the control group showed no significant difference. Intervention iodized salt 30 ± 5 ppm shown to improve the mean TSH and lower the risk of hypothyroidism (RR 95% CI = 1.46 (0.25 to 8.53), While ElU indicators have not been able to detect significant changes in iodine intake that occurred at 6 months of intervention. Needs to be done iodine effective for other age groups, as the correction of iodine salt circulating in lndonesia.</dc:description>
