Pemeriksaan USG kelenjar tiroid dapat menilai volume dan kelainan echostructure ( nodul atau kistik). Penelitian yang pernah dilakukan di lndonesia hanya menilai volume kelenjar tiroid saja Penelitian terhadap gambaran echostructure kelenjar tiroid belum pernah dilakukan. Tujuan mendapatkan gambaran echostructure kelenjar tiroid wanita usia subur. Penelitian dilaksanakan di tiga kabupaten, meliputi: Purbalingga, Pati dan Malang. Jenis penelitian non intervens dengan desain potong lintang. Subjek adalah WUS, sehat, status, gizi baik yang dipilih secara acak. Subjek diperiksa kelenjar tiroidnya dengan menggunakan USG portabel Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Kabupaten Malang: proporsi nodul = 10.5%, kista = 7%; campuran (nodul dan kista) = 2,5%; total = 20%. Kabupaten Purbalingga: proporsi nodul= 1 %; kista = 1,5 %; campuran = 0%; total = 2,5%. Kabupaten Pati: proporsi nodul = 9%; kista = 1,5 %; campuran = 0,5%; total = 11%. Kesimpulan gambaran echostructure kelenjar tiroid pada penelitian ini menunjukkan kelainan: antara lain nodul, kista dan campuran nodul dan kista.WN 180-240 Diagnostic Imaging.
