Karena meskipun secara fisik kelak proyek samijaga tersebut sudah mencapai coverage 100%, ini belum menjamin pemanfaatan secara menyeluruh. Sampai saat ini pengelolaan samijaga belum memuaskan, meskipun sudah ada peningkatan jika dibandingkan antara Pelita I dan II. Organisasi desa untuk pengelolaan samijaga tersebut belum terwujud. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka penelitian ini dilaksanakan yang bertujuan untuk mencari cara pengelolaan samijaga yang efektif dan efisien menurut tipologi desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 85 sample sumur pompa tangan yang diobservasi ternayata 16 buah yang rusak berarti 81% baik dan 19% yang rusak.
