Penelitian yang dilakukan ialah daya antispasmodik kulit batang turi sebagai obat diare. Penelitian meliputi Pengaruh kulit batang turi terhadap kontraksi usus kelinci terisolasi dan penelitian daya anti diare kulit batang turi pada tikus putih. Sebagai pelengkap diteliti pula LD-50 nya. Hasil penelitian terhadap kontraksi usus kelinci terisolasi menunjukkan bahwa infus dan ekstrak kulit batang turi menurunkan kontraksi usus. Hasil penelitian daya antidiare menunjukkan bahwa infus dan ekstrak bahan menghambat diare, tetapi sangat lemah dibandingkan dengan difenoksilat.
