(1952). Ke-5 tanaman obat tersebut adalah rimpang Alpinia galanga Sw, daun Cassia siamea Lamk, bunga Michelia Alba Linn, daun Persea gratissima Gaertn, dan rimpang Zingiber americana Bl. Hasilnya : berdasarkan penggolongan Gleason, M.N. (1964), ke-5 tanaman obat di atas, termasuk golongan Practically Non Toxic (PNT). Selain itu dilakukan juga percobaan toksisitas subkronik terhadap Momordica charantia Linn pada tikus putih, menurut cara yang biasa dilakukan dilaboratorium farmakologi eksperimen, Puslitbang Farmasi, Badan Litbangkes Jakarta.
