Telah dilakukan penelitian toksisitas subkronik infus daun Johar pada tikus putih. penelitian menggunakan cara yang lazim dilakukan di Laboratorium Farmakologi Eksperimental, Puslitbang Farmasi, Badan Litbangkes. Depkes. R.I. Jakarta dengan acuan dari TRS WHO No.563; 1975.
