Smooth muscle relaxant affect of Elephantopus scaber L., Pluchaea indica (l) Lass., Phyllanthus niruri L., Eugina polyantha Wight obtaines from Balai Penelitian Tanaman Obat Tawangmangu, Surakarta, Central Java, was checked on the isolated intestinal smooth muscle.    It was found that 7500 mg powder Elephantopus scaber L, ingiber cassumunar Roxb., Phyllanthus niruri L. and Tinospora tuborculata Baumas per BW must be used to have antipyratic effect equal to 300 mg per kg BW of Sodium Salicilata.    No depressive effect was seen on the isolated intestinal smooth muscle except that of Pluchaea indica (l) Lass. at high dose (which make the use of it impractical).
