Evaluated by using the Creterion of Cleason it was seen that all are "Practically Non Toxic". The bitter cassave juice at dose 2,5 ml per rat administered orrally did not kill the rat. Aegle marmelos CORR leaves and stembark, Acorus calamus LINN. rhizome, Desmodium triquetrum D.C. leaves extract were checked on the cat blood pressure using the method of Modi and Desmauker it was determined that none of them were intersted for further examination. The influence of the extract of A. occidentale LINN. leaves, A marmelos CORR. leaves and stembark, A. calamus LINN. rhizome and D triquetrum D.C. leaves were tested on the isolated rabbit intestine and guinea pig isolated uterus. It was seen that A. occidentale LINN., A. marmelos CORR. has no consistent effect while D triquetrum D.C. has a stimulating effect which was blocked partly by Avil and partly by Atropine. A. calamus having a depressant effect on the intestine proved to be Atropine - like. This supports the use of A. calamus LINN. as antidysentric agent as long as the motility is concerned. It also has a depressive effect on the isolated uterus. The extract of A. marmelos CORR. leaves and stembark have a stimulating effect on the isolated guinea pig uterus which supports the information being an abortive agent.
