Pilihan terapi untuk pasien Covid-19 derajat berat masih terbatas, masih dalam tahap operational research (plasma konvalesens (PK), Tocillizumab (TCZ), immunoglobulin intravena (IVIG) dan stem cell). TCZ : penghambatan IL-6 menjadi strategi terapeutik untuk mengurangi kejadian badai sitokin terkait covid-19; efikasi dan keamanannya pada pasien Covid-19 pada derajt berat msih terus diselidiki. Baricitinib : Mekanisme obat Janus kinase inhibitor dengan menghambat proses protein fosforilasi yang terlihat dalam transduksi signal terjadinya aktivasi imun dan inflamasi. Sudah mendapat EUA dari FDA sebagai terapi tambahan untuk pasien derajat berat atau kritis. Indonesia mendapat donasi dari US Baricitinib sebanyak 9.400 dosis (4 mg peroral selama 14 hari). Tujuan penelitian ada 2 tujuan, tujuan primer menilai perbedaan mortalitas (all-cause mortality) selama perawtan sampai hari ke-14 pada kelompok.
