Penelitian tersebut dilakukan terhadap anak-anak yang sebelum diberi OPV tidak mempunyai antibodi sama sekali terhadap ketiga tipe virus polio. Masalahnya sekarang adalah bahwa BIAS-polio dilakukan pada semua anak SD tanpa melihat apakah mereka sudah mempunyai antibodi ataukah tidak, dan juga tidak dilihat apakah anak sudah diimunisasi polio atau belum.
