Hal ini juga terungkap dalam hasil penelitian Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat Solidaritas Moral Anti Narkoba (Smart) bahwa sekitar 74,64 o/o dari pengguna narkotika, ganja shabu-shabu, putaw dan ecstacy di Bandung berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan rincian berusia antara 15 -17 tahun (52 75 %) usia 17 -19 tahun (45,1%), dan di atas 19 tahun 2, 15 %. Sementara itu, hal yang paling mengkhawatirkan adalah kemungkinan melonjaknya infeksi HIV/AIDS di kalangan pecandu narkotika.
