Repositori BKPKKarakterisasi Komponen Protein 125,79-75 & 25 Kd dari Mikrofilaria B. malayi dan Hubungannya dengan Reaksi SelulerBasundari SriUtamiauthorRespon imun pada filariasis menunjukkan bahwa sera kelompok amikrofilaremik mempunyai IgG yang mengenal komponen protein mikrofilaria malayi dengan berat molekul 75,70 dan 25 Kd, ditujukan bahwa antibodi terhadap komponen ini dapat menurunkan jumlah mikrofilaria di dalam gerbil dan mencit. Penelitian lain menunjukkan bahwa komponen 125 Kd dan 25 kd dikenal paling menonjol oleh kelompok amikrofilaremik dengan gejala klinis dan elefantiatis. Untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang komponen protein ini dilakukan karakterisasi yang meliputi seberapa jauh komponen-komponen ini dapat menstimulasi respon seluler dari penduduk daerah endemis filariasis, serta pengaruh antibodi, anti komponen-komponen tersebut terhadap pertumbuhan larva infektif dari filariasis. Hasil karakterisasi tersebut menunjukkan pada uji transformasi limfosit komponen-komponen tersebut kurang berhasil dalam menstimulasi sel limfosit untuk berproliferasi. Pada kultur terlihat ada hambatan pertumbuhan L3 ke L4, akan tetapi hasil ini hanya diamati sampai dengan hari ke 25.
