Ketersediaan diagnosis cepat secara laboratorium terbatas pada deteksi antibodi (MAT,leptotek). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan produksi antibodi monoklonal yang spesifik terhadap bakteri Leptospira,sehingga dapat dilakukan deteksi antigen Leptospira. Produksi antibodi monoklonal spesifik Leptospira dilakukan dengan cara membuat klon hibridoma yang dapat menghasilkan antibodi monoklonal yang spesifik terhadap bakteri Leptospira. Penelitian di Laboratorium Fasilitas Penelitian Bersama (FALITMA) Fakultas Biologi UGM pada bulan april-desember 2012. Diperoleh protein antigen LipL32 dari kultur bakteri Leptospira serovar Batavaia dengan kadar 2,068 mg/ml. Sebanyak tiga ekor mencit Balb/c telah berhasil diimunisasi menggunakan protein ini dengan kadar 5 ul/ml. Fusi dilakukan menggunakan sel Limfosit(4,45 x 108 sel per ml)dari salah satu mencit yang telah diimunisasi dan sel myeloma (7,75 x 107 sel per ml). Hasil fusi masih belum begitu bagus dan akan dicoba untuk mengulangi fusi setelah jumlah sel myeloma mencukupi.WC 195-425 Infection.
