About 245 elderly inpatient had been interviewed from 2 class A hospitals and 3 class B hospitals located in Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, and Bandung. Data of age, day of care, and diseases were collected by using a questionnaire and translated from patient card. This study result show that hospital inpatient of elderly consist of age 60- 64 years old (38.36%), and 65-69 years old (27.35%), and 70-74 years old (19.18%). Most of elderly had hospital stay of 2-6 days (46.53 %), and 7-11 days (30%). Stroke, hypertrophy of prostate gland, diabetes mellitus, neoplasma, cardiac disease, hypertension, pneumonia, asthma, renal failure and gastritis are the ten most frequent diseases that had been detected. More than 55% elderly are diagnosted with poly-diseases (comorbidity). This study suggested to the government and non government organization (NGO) to give more attention to the health problems of elderly, particularly on hospital care and health education.
