Tak ditemukan satu strainpun Mycabterium dari sampel ini. Terlihat bahwa dari penderita lama, banyak sputum yang positif pada pemeriksaan BTA, tapi negatif pada pemeriksaan kultur. Ini membuktikan bahwa hasil BTA yang ditemukan adalah basil yang sudah mati, karena pada kultur tidak dapat tumbuh lagi. Test resitensi belum dilakukan guna penghematan biaya. Untuk melakukan test sebaiknya dilakukan, bila strain sudah terkumpul sedikitnya 30 agar biaya pemeriksaan dapat ditekan.
