The public health issue period of February 23-27, 2026, was marked by various dynamics. On the one hand, the government demonstrated massive achievements in preventive programs (70 million Free Health Checks) and nutrition education. However, on the other hand, health authorities faced serious challenges in the form of a crisis of confidence due to the dismissal of a senior medical figure (Dr. Piprim), threats to public finances (the BPJS contribution discourse), and operational incidents in the government's flagship program (the Free Nutritious Meals/MBG poisoning). The handling of the measles issue is a crucial indicator of the effectiveness of the current national immunization system.
