Jakarta– In 2023, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) will conduct the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) which is an integration of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) and the Indonesian Toddler Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI). SKI 2023 is intended to evaluate health development through community-based health data collection.
This was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono in his remarks at the Dissemination of the Results of the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) held in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/6). This event, which invited a number of cross-sector Ministries/Institutions, local governments, academics, researchers, professional organizations and health development partners, was carried out offline and online.
Deputy Minister of Health Dante explained that the unification in the form of one survey was carried out to assess the achievement of health development results over the past 5 years and to measure trends in the nutritional status of toddlers from 2019 to 2024. The 2023 SKI was carried out in 514 districts/cities and 38 provinces throughout Indonesia.
"This health data is expected to be used as a consideration in formulating health development policies in Indonesia, I hope the Ministry of Health can weave the results of this SKI into the 6 pillars of Health Transformation," said Deputy Minister of Health Dante.
Further explained by Deputy Minister of Health Dante that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health was very careful in making policies due to the limited data it had. The availability of data and information related to the achievement of health development results, said Prof. Dante, is very important for the Ministry of Health, Provincial Governments, and Districts/Cities throughout Indonesia to implement programs and achieve the desired targets.
"This data will be used as material for formulating more targeted and evidence-based development program policies, including the development of national and regional development plans," added the Deputy Minister of Health.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Health also reminded that differences in responding to the results of a survey are something normal. This does not only happen in Indonesia, but also throughout the world.
Deputy Minister of Health Dante said that differences in responding to the results of a survey are something natural. The right step in responding to the results of this survey is to improve the performance of health programs, both at the central and regional levels. The orientation is not only publication but the most important thing is to improve health programs.
Regarding the utilization of SKI 2023 data, Deputy Minister of Health Dante explained that the Ministry of Health is opening up opportunities as widely as possible for the public, both academics and researchers, to be able to access SKI data easily. Prof. Dante promised that the bureaucratic process that may have previously existed in requesting Riskesdas data results will be eliminated. The public can request data from the Ministry of Health's BKPK so that it is hoped that later the public will also provide evaluation and input on the program.

Lastly, Deputy Minister of Health Dante requested that BKPK upload SKI data to the International Agency so that Indonesia's health profile can be identified. The Deputy Minister of Health said that he often attended international meetings but there was no Indonesian health data. By uploading SKI data to the International Agency, it is hoped that Indonesia's health profile can be identified so that in the future it can also map and create strategic programs in the international arena.
